After making several of this type of chair I am beginning to understand the challenge the Bodgers of Old faced when working with their limited access to power tools. This one was a commissioned work .
The wood used is mainly Oak but with a Holly back rest. Joints are glued and wedged without screws or nails.
Biscuit joints are hidden within the actual seat to add to the overall robustness.
