Woody Phase 9

23rd March 2020 sees me in the boat shed / garage having reached the stage of fitting the outer spray rails and keel sections. This little complication slows progress due to the need for fitting angle fillets that have to provide sufficient gluing area for the ply (5mm). An epoxy sealing coat will be applied inside this hollow section prior to sealing it up. The bow section of keel is then to be glued down, having already been steam bent to shape. The mating surfaces will require final shaving off /truing up and screws will hold the section in place - after setting the screws will be removed and replaced with wood dowels down into the under layers of ply and inner hog. The rear half is now already done in this fashion.

As the pandemic creaps up unseen in the outside world, many future plans are being upset or uncertain. Family matters are thrown into dissaray but the hope of a brighter future remains at the end of the tunnel.
Covid 19, believed to be a virus originating in bats, has leaped species.
Important therefore to know bats live in caves and close up together.
Why that virus life form should develop in the first place is not difficult to understand. Permitting the young and fittest to thrive, then taking out the weak and aged bat, is ultimately good for the bat cave and for their species.
Mother Nature sets the rules and knows them better than all the pretend writers like me.
So live your life, not in a man cave, but some other place. Not cosied up to a neighbour but distanced as far as possible. Above all, be happy and hope the little reaper of life will permit you to escape this moment of reckoning.
Now back to my boat shed....
